Overview

Clarity is a no-code tool that lets a community run its own online organization on Cardano, with a shared treasury and votes recorded openly on the network. Anyone can set up the organization, invite members, put proposals to a vote, and see the results without writing code. It also runs a public portal where people follow and vote on Cardano's own network-wide governance decisions.

Clarity is built by Clear Contracts, Inc. The kind of member-run organization it creates is called a DAO, short for decentralized autonomous organization — a group that makes decisions together through recorded votes rather than through a single owner. Clarity handles the technical parts, so groups that do not have developers can still form and govern one.

Key Features

  • No-code DAO builder. Communities create a member-run organization on Cardano without programming, then set up proposals, voting, and a shared treasury through a web app1.
  • Public Cardano governance portal. A "Cast Votes" page lists live network decisions, including treasury requests, software upgrades, and rule changes, that anyone can read and vote on after connecting a wallet2.
  • Choice of voting methods. Each organization picks how votes are counted: linear voting, where power matches tokens held, or quadratic voting, which makes it costly for a few large holders to dominate3.
  • Treasury spending tracker. The portal shows how much Cardano's shared treasury is allowed to pay out over the year, plus how much has been used and what remains2.
  • Delegated representative explorer. A built-in directory lets people browse the representatives who vote on Cardano governance on behalf of others, known as DReps4.

What to Expect

For a curious visitor, the clearest starting point is the public voting portal. It presents real Cardano governance proposals in plain lists that show what is being decided, how the vote is trending, and how long is left, and you can read all of it without signing in2.

Community organizers get a guided setup for launching and running a DAO: creating the group, defining who can propose and vote, and managing a shared treasury from one dashboard1. Behind the scenes, the voting rules run on Agora, an open-source Cardano governance framework originally from Liqwid Labs5.

Developers have their own path, with published documentation, a software toolkit, and public code repositories for building on top of the platform1. Clear Contracts also built the voting tool used for Cardano's Constitutional Convention and operates the Cardano Builder DAO, so the platform is used for the ecosystem's own decision-making, not only third-party groups6.
