Introduction

Overview

Iagon is a decentralized cloud storage and compute marketplace built on Cardano, where node operators contribute spare disk and CPU capacity in exchange for IAG token rewards, and consumers buy storage at supply-and-demand pricing. The protocol targets both retail users and enterprise customers that need auditable, encrypted data handling outside of hyperscale cloud providers.

Under the hood, Iagon functions as a decentralized physical infrastructure network coordinating two resource pools: a storage layer where encrypted file shards are distributed across operator nodes, and a compute layer where nodes are grouped into tiers by performance, uptime, and trust metrics1. Access control is bound to the uploader's Cardano wallet session, meaning operators cannot arbitrarily retrieve or decrypt stored content. Payments, provider rewards, subscription settlement, and governance all run through the IAG native token on Cardano.

The project ships a full product surface rather than a single node binary: a user-facing web app, a provider dashboard, the Cyclone Qs plug-and-play node hardware sold through a dedicated marketplace, and on-chain governance via votes.iagon.com.

Key Features
  • Shared storage economy. A marketplace where anyone with spare disk capacity can sell storage directly to consumers, with pricing set by demand and supply rather than a central operator1.
  • Encryption and sharding by default. Uploads are encrypted on receipt and split across multiple independent providers, with no plaintext retained after the request lifecycle and wallet-gated reads2.
  • Compute marketplace alongside storage. Compute nodes are organized into performance and reliability tiers, extending the protocol beyond file storage into distributed workloads1.
  • IAG token on Cardano. A capped 1 billion supply native asset used for storage payments, operator rewards, liquidity provisioning, and governance voting weight.
  • Enterprise pilots with named partners. Deployed in a tokenized 3D-printing intellectual property platform with Wurth Group and Wurth Additive Group, covering secure file distribution and automated royalty handling through Cardano smart contracts3.
  • Independent audit history. Six independent security audits covering smart contracts, architecture, and infrastructure, conducted by firms including Secureworks, Modus, VacuumLabs, and FYEO, with findings remediated and re-tested2.
What to Expect

Retail users interact with Iagon through the web app, uploading files that are encrypted, sharded, and distributed across the provider network without exposing plaintext to node operators. A Cardano wallet handles authentication and gates retrieval, so a lost or switched wallet is the key availability concern to plan for. Storage subscriptions are paid in IAG rather than fiat, which means users need a small working balance of the token to transact.

Providers have two entry points. Hardware-minded operators can self-host the node software on existing machines, stake IAG against their declared capacity, and earn a share of storage fees, or they can buy a Cyclone Qs node from the marketplace for a more plug-and-play setup. Token holders without hardware can delegate IAG to existing nodes through the staking platform and collect a portion of node earnings, with the LSPO program layering additional rewards for liquidity provision on Cardano DEXs.

Governance decisions, from reward parameters to roadmap priorities, are handled on-chain through the project's voting portal, and the published audit record2 plus a MiCA-aligned whitepaper give enterprise adopters a concrete compliance and security baseline to evaluate.
