Overview

Iagon lets you store files and run computing tasks on a network of independent providers instead of a single big cloud company. Anyone with spare disk space or CPU power can rent it out on Cardano and earn IAG token rewards, while users pay only for the storage they use, at prices set by supply and demand.

It is aimed at both everyday users and businesses that want encrypted storage they can verify, outside of providers like AWS or Google Cloud. Iagon sits in the DePIN and computing part of the Cardano ecosystem, which uses real-world hardware coordinated through blockchain1. Your Cardano wallet acts as the key to your files, so the operators storing your data cannot open or read them.

Iagon ships a full set of tools rather than just software to install: a web app for users, a dashboard for providers, the Cyclone Qs ready-to-run node hardware sold through its marketplace, and on-chain voting at votes.iagon.com.

Key Features

  • A shared market for storage. Anyone with spare disk space can sell storage directly to other people, with pricing set by demand rather than a single company1.
  • Encrypted and split into pieces by default. Files are encrypted the moment they are uploaded and broken into small pieces spread across independent providers, with no unencrypted copy kept and only your wallet able to unlock them2.
  • Computing alongside storage. Iagon also rents out CPU power, with providers sorted into groups based on how fast and reliable their machines are1.
  • IAG token on Cardano. A capped 1 billion supply Cardano token used to pay for storage, reward operators, supply trading pools, and vote on governance.
  • Enterprise pilots with named partners. Deployed in a tokenized 3D-printing intellectual property platform with Wurth Group and Wurth Additive Group, covering secure file distribution and automatic royalty payments through Cardano smart contracts3.
  • Independent audit history. Six independent security reviews covering smart contracts, system design, and infrastructure, by firms including Secureworks, Modus, VacuumLabs, and FYEO, with findings fixed and re-tested2.

What to Expect

For everyday users, Iagon works through a web app. You upload a file, it gets encrypted, broken into small pieces, and spread across the provider network so no single operator can open it. Your Cardano wallet acts as the key, so a lost or switched wallet is the main thing to plan for. You pay for storage in IAG rather than dollars, so you need a small balance of the token to use the service.

There are two ways to earn. People with hardware can run the Iagon node software on their own machine, lock up some IAG to activate their capacity, and earn a share of storage fees, or they can buy a plug-and-play Cyclone Qs node from the marketplace. People without hardware can back an existing node with IAG and collect a share of its rewards. The LSPO program adds extra rewards for users who supply IAG to trading pools on Cardano DEXs.

Iagon holders vote on-chain at the project's voting portal on things like reward rates and roadmap plans. For businesses checking Iagon out, the published audits2 and a whitepaper aligned with MiCA (the European Union's crypto regulation) give them something concrete to review.
