Overview
IAMX is a Cardano-based digital identity project from the Swiss company IAMX AG, based in Zug. It's built around a simple idea: your identity data (ID, KYC information, professional credentials) should belong to you and live on your own device, not on a company's server you have no control over. When you need to prove who you are to a website or service, you decide what to share1.
Unlike most wallets in this directory, IAMX is not a single app you download. It's a set of online tools and services: a web tool for issuing identity NFTs, another for verifying them, and a behind-the-scenes KYC service that companies plug into their onboarding flows2. There is also an IAMX token that trades on Cardano, but it's held in regular Cardano wallets. There's no dedicated IAMX wallet app.

- Your identity, your device. Identity data stays on your phone or computer, not on IAMX's servers. You decide which pieces to share, with whom, and when2.
- Identity as a Cardano NFT. A web tool lets you mint an "identity NFT" (a digital proof of who you are), and another tool lets businesses verify those proofs against the Cardano blockchain.

- IAMX token and stake pool. An IAMX token that trades on Cardano, and an active IAMX stake pool you can delegate to for rewards. The token was originally distributed by sending ADA to a special IAMX stake pool4.
What to Expect
IAMX is set up as infrastructure for the Cardano ecosystem rather than a consumer app. For most users, you'll encounter IAMX indirectly. A Cardano project that uses IAMX's KYC service may ask you to verify your identity through an IAMX-powered flow, with the data stored on your device rather than the project's servers.
For businesses, IAMX is more directly useful: it provides ready-made identity and compliance tools that other Cardano projects can plug into their onboarding flows. The company has partnered with other Cardano teams (including NMKR and FluidTokens) on joint identity proposals through Cardano's grant programme, Project Catalyst.
For developers, IAMX publishes its identity tools and libraries openly on GitHub, including digital-identifier (DID) implementations, payment-gateway code, and wallet-connect helpers. The team's whitepaper covers the technical design in more depth2.
For everyone else, the most tangible thing about IAMX is the IAMX token on Cardano: a normal Cardano token you can hold in any wallet (Lace, Eternl, Yoroi) or delegate to the IAMX stake pool4.
