Overview
Mindplex is a futurist media platform where members read, write, and vote on stories about AI, biotech, and crypto. Anyone can browse the daily magazine for free, and no account is needed to read. Members who sign up earn a reputation score as they contribute, which gives their votes more weight over time. The project is built by SingularityNET, a group running AI projects without a central company, founded by Dr. Ben Goertzel. Mindplex pairs the magazine with a member-run social network1.
Mindplex runs on two tokens. MPX is a utility token, meaning it is used for payments and access inside the app. Members spend MPX to tip creators, pay for AI services, and cast votes on changes to the project. MPXR is a reputation token you earn, not buy. It cannot be sold or moved to another account, a property sometimes called soulbound. When a vote happens, MPXR makes the vote count for less when a few large holders try to outweigh everyone else2. The MPX token is described on the homepage as working across both Cardano and Ethereum, placing Mindplex in the same orbit as the wider SingularityNET ecosystem1.
Key Features
- Daily magazine for the AI-curious. Mindplex Magazine publishes new articles every day on topics like longevity, machine intelligence, decentralized science (research and publishing run by the community), and emerging crypto culture. Anyone can read without signing up3.
- Member-run social network. A social space at social.mindplex.ai runs on the same open-source software that powers Mastodon, an open-source social network similar to Twitter. Members can post, follow, and reply rather than just comment under articles1.
- Reputation that weights votes. MPXR cannot be bought. It is awarded when members contribute and engage. When governance votes happen, MPXR makes sure a few large holders cannot dominate the outcome on their own2.
- Content Factory for requests. Readers can spend tokens to request specific content they want to see, such as a deep dive, an interview, or an explainer. Creators take on the requests in exchange for rewards4.
- Native mobile apps. Mindplex ships an iPhone app and an Android app, both published by SingularityNET. Members can read and post on the go without opening a browser56.
What to Expect
The home page is the magazine itself. You land on a stream of recent articles tagged with topics like AI, biotech, transhumanism, and crypto. You can read everything without an account. If you sign up, you get a profile, the ability to comment, and a feed where you follow other members and see their posts.
Members new to Mindplex usually start by reading a few articles, following the topics that match their interests, and earning a starter amount of MPXR through interaction. Over time, contributing well-received pieces or thoughtful comments builds reputation. That reputation then feeds back into how much weight the member carries in any future vote.
The token side of Mindplex is described on the homepage and in the project's whitepaper. The deeper technical details, such as token contract addresses and supply numbers, are not yet published2.
