Overview
Optim Finance is a place to make your ADA earn more, without giving it to anyone else to hold. You can rent out the right to earn staking rewards on your ADA, swap your ADA for a version that earns interest by itself, or follow strategies that the app runs for you. The two main products are Liquidity Bonds (a marketplace where stake pool operators can rent staking rights for a fixed period) and OADA (a token that is always worth exactly one ADA, but in a form that can earn extra yield)1.
Optim Finance runs on Cardano, and decisions about the project are made by a community group called ODAO. Liquidity Bonds was the first product to go live and is still one of the bigger Cardano lending apps, measured by how much ADA is parked in it. OADA came later, and it has a partner token called sOADA, which is the same idea but designed to grow in value as the app earns money2.
Key Features
- Rent out your ADA's staking rights for fixed interest. Liquidity Bonds let stake pool operators borrow staking power from a pool of lenders for a set amount of time at a pre-agreed interest rate. Lenders get that interest on top of their normal staking rewards, and pools get the capital they need to grow1.
- Yield-earning ADA you can still spend. OADA is always worth one ADA and can be swapped back at any time. If you stake some of it as sOADA, it starts earning extra yield from the app's automated strategies. You can split your stack: keep some as OADA for spending, stake some as sOADA for earning2.
- Outside experts have checked the code. Liquidity Bonds were reviewed by security firms Tweag and MLabs before launch, and OADA was reviewed by Anastasia Labs. All the reports are linked from the docs32.
- Community funded, open source. Optim Finance has received multiple Project Catalyst grants to build out the suite and a faster layer-2 system called Leviathan. The smart contract code is published on the team's public GitHub.
- Plays nicely with other Cardano apps. OADA pairs up with stablecoins on the Splash exchange, and the project is hooked into Liqwid, Indigo, and price feed Charli3. That means Optim Finance plugs into the rest of Cardano lending, synthetic assets, and pricing infrastructure.
What to Expect
You open the Optim Finance app, connect a Cardano wallet, and pick a product. For Liquidity Bonds, you can either lend ADA to a bond market and earn fixed interest, or if you run a stake pool, you can borrow staking rights against an interest deposit. For OADA, the dashboard offers a guided flow: turn your ADA into OADA, then if you want, stake it as sOADA to start earning.
The app explains each step in plain language as you go and shows live numbers for the active bonds, the OADA in circulation, and the staking auction for the current period. Documentation, ODAO voting, and audit reports are all linked from the main site, so you can dig into the details or follow community votes without leaving the project. There are also bigger products being built (Strategy Vaults and the Leviathan layer-2), and the public whitepapers and code are already up if you want a head start on them2.
