Introduction

Overview

Optim Finance is a yield app that lets coin holders put their savings to work without handing them over to anyone else. You can rent out the right to earn staking rewards on your coins, swap them for a version that earns interest on its own, or follow the app's automated strategies — all from a single dashboard. Its flagship products are Liquidity Bonds, an on-chain market for renting ADA staking rights, and OADA, a synthetic ADA token that is always backed one-for-one by real ADA1.

The protocol is governed by ODAO and runs on Cardano's smart contract platform. Liquidity Bonds was Optim's first live product and remains one of the larger Cardano lending-and-borrowing protocols by total value locked, while OADA expanded the lineup with a yield-stripped synthetic and a staked version called sOADA2.

Key Features
  • Rent ADA staking rights for fixed-term yield. Liquidity Bonds let stake pool operators borrow delegation power from a pool of lenders for a set duration at a pre-agreed interest rate, so lenders earn interest on top of normal rewards and pools get capital to bootstrap or scale1.
  • Yield-bearing ADA you can still trade. OADA is always redeemable one-for-one with ADA, while sOADA is the staked version that captures yield from the system's automated operations. Holders can keep liquidity in OADA and earn separately by staking some of it as sOADA2.
  • Audited by independent firms. Liquidity Bonds were reviewed by Tweag and MLabs before launch, and OADA was audited by Anastasia Labs, with reports linked from Optim's documentation32.
  • Community-funded and open-source. Optim has secured multiple rounds of Project Catalyst funding for product expansion and an account-model layer-2 called Leviathan, with smart contract code published on the team's public GitHub.
  • Built to compose with Cardano DeFi. OADA pairs with stablecoin liquidity on partner exchange Splash, and integrations with Liqwid, Indigo, and Charli3 connect Optim to lending markets, synthetic assets, and price feeds across the ecosystem.
What to Expect

You connect a Cardano wallet to the Optim Finance app and pick a product. For Liquidity Bonds, you can either lend ADA into a bond market and earn fixed interest, or, as a stake pool operator, borrow delegation rights against an interest deposit. For OADA, the dashboard offers a guided "mint, stake, earn" flow: convert ADA into OADA, then optionally stake it for sOADA to capture the system's yield.

The interface walks through each step in plain language and surfaces live values for active bonds, OADA supply, and the epoch stake auction. Documentation, governance proposals, and audit reports are all linked from the main site, so a curious visitor can dig into the mechanics or follow ODAO votes without leaving the project's footprint. Strategy Vaults and the Leviathan layer-2 ledger are works in progress, with public whitepapers and Aiken smart contract code already available for review2.
