Overview
Tempo DApp Explorer is a free leaderboard that ranks DApps by how much ADA and how many other tokens people have locked inside them. It puts the top-ranked projects in a sortable table next to their trading volume, transaction count, and the number of wallets that used them over the past day, week, and month1. Reading it takes no account and no wallet connection.
The rankings cover the Cardano ecosystem, mixing decentralized exchanges, lending markets, stablecoins, NFT marketplaces, and bridges into one list. The page belongs to Tempo, a governance platform whose team the Cardano Foundation lists among its developer and builder delegations, describing it as the creators of an on-chain governance hub2. The rest of the site serves DReps, the representatives ADA holders hand their voting power to, which makes this page Tempo's one window on the wider app ecosystem.
Key Features
- One table, several corners of Cardano. Decentralized exchanges, lending markets, stablecoins, marketplaces, and bridges all appear in the same sortable list, so projects of different kinds can be compared on the same numbers1.
- Sort by the number you care about. Seven columns respond to a click: total value locked, volume, transaction count, new wallets, and active wallets across one-day, seven-day, and thirty-day windows. Ranking by activity rather than by value locked reorders those same 30 rows1.
- A top slice, not the full roster. The table shows the 30 highest-ranked projects by total value locked, meaning the ADA and tokens sitting inside each app. A searchable filter above it lists all 119 tracked DApps by name, but picking one outside those 30 returns no row, and the table does not page or scroll to the rest1.
- Value counted three ways. A control labelled TVL Type, short for total value locked, switches between the full token mix, ADA only, and a view that leaves out a project's own staking token, which changes what counts toward the total. Figures read in either ADA or dollars1.
- A risk grade beside each project. Rows carry a label ranging from Minor to Critical, plus Unknown where none is set. How Tempo assigns those grades is not publicly documented1.
What to Expect
You land on a dark dashboard: four summary cards covering value locked across the network and the past day's wallets, transactions, and volume, a daily history chart underneath, and the ranking table below that1. Sorting and filtering happen in place. A line under the heading states that value-locked figures run a day behind and are calculated in ADA by default1.
Discovery stops at the table. Rows carry a name, a logo, and numbers, but nothing to click through: selecting a project opens no detail view and sends you to no website, and Tempo DApp Explorer publishes no page for individual projects1. Anyone who spots something worth investigating has to go looking for it elsewhere.
Two things about the table are left unexplained. Tempo does not state where the value, volume, and wallet figures come from, so whether they are indexed in-house or drawn from another provider is not publicly documented1. The Risk Level grades come with no legend either1, and the site's user guides cover governance tasks such as registering as a DRep or running a poll rather than anything about the ranking3. The leaderboard works best as a quick scan of which Cardano apps hold value and see traffic, with the follow-up left to project websites and other explorers.
