Overview
Upstream Stake Pools is a Cardano pool directory you can browse and delegate from in one place, run by a UK-based community team. It shows fees, total stake, declared pledge, lifetime blocks produced, and delegator counts for every active pool, so you can compare and decide without bouncing between sites. Connecting a Cardano wallet on the page lets you delegate right there, with your ADA staying in your wallet the whole time.
The directory is built by Upstream SPO Ltd, a UK company that also runs its own pool (ticker UPSTR). Beyond the explorer, Upstream organises the London Cardano Social meetup series, an annual community summit, and educational content for newcomers. All operator rewards are reinvested back into infrastructure and community events rather than paid out as profit.12
The project also runs a directory of Delegated Representatives, the people who vote on behalf of ADA holders in Cardano's governance system, so users can pick a DRep whose views match their own.3
Key Features
- Searchable pool directory. Active Cardano pools listed with sortable columns for fees, how full each pool is, the operator's own stake, blocks produced, and delegator counts1.
- Delegate without leaving the site. Connect a Cardano browser wallet and delegate to any listed pool in a few clicks. No new app or service to learn.
- Side-by-side pool comparison. A built-in comparison tool lets you weigh up several pools at once before deciding where to delegate.
- Community events hub. The site lists Cardano meetups, governance workshops, and summits in London, with a link to the active Meetup group.
- A DRep directory too. A separate section helps you find a Delegated Representative whose views you trust, so your stake also has a clear voice in Cardano governance3.
What to Expect
The pool explorer is a clean table that loads fast and sorts on a click. Each row shows the basics at a glance, and you can ask the site to randomise the order daily or weekly so smaller pools get a chance to be seen. The wallet connection uses a standard Cardano plugin and supports the common browser wallets, so delegating is a few clicks once your wallet is connected. The site is built on WordPress, so it works smoothly on phones and laptops alike.
Upstream runs its pool on dedicated servers with backups and constant monitoring. The team also contributes to the wider Cardano network by running a Mithril signer (which speeds up secure data sharing), a Blockfrost Icebreaker node, and pools on Cardano's three test networks. If you happen to be in London, the events section of the site is a good way to find the next Cardano meetup or workshop and meet the team in person.2
