Overview
Eternl is a free Cardano wallet for storing ADA, native tokens, and NFTs, with everything you need to use them (staking, swapping, and connecting to Cardano apps) built in. It runs on your phone, in your browser, and as a regular website at eternl.io, and the same recovery phrase opens any of them. You hold the keys; only you can move the coins.
Originally launched as CCVault, the wallet is built by Tastenkunst GmbH. It's a "light" wallet, meaning it doesn't store the entire Cardano blockchain on your device. Instead, it talks to remote servers in the background, so the app stays small and fast on a phone or older laptop1.
Key Features
- A browser for Cardano apps. Open DeFi apps, NFT marketplaces, and games inside the wallet itself. Signing into them works the same way as approving a payment, so there's nothing new to learn2.
- In-wallet token swaps. Trade ADA for other Cardano tokens through an integrated trading tool powered by Minswap. No separate exchange account needed.
- Shared wallets for teams. Set up a wallet that needs more than one person to approve a transaction. That's useful for couples, business partners, DAOs, or any group treasury1.
- Pair with a hardware wallet. Connect a Ledger, Trezor, or Keystone device, so the recovery phrase lives offline while you still use the Eternl app for everyday actions.
- One wallet across all your devices. The same wallet works as a browser add-on, as a mobile app, and as a website, with translations in over 30 languages.
What to Expect
Setting up Eternl takes a few minutes. You create or restore a wallet with a recovery phrase, set a spending password, and the app syncs with the network. The dashboard shows your balance, recent transactions, and quick links to staking, swaps, and apps. If you have more than one wallet (say, savings and spending), you can flip between them from a sidebar without logging out.
Staking sits in its own tab. You can sort stake pools by past performance, delegate to one in a single confirmation, or split your ADA across several pools at once. Once delegated, your ADA earns rewards every five days and you can still spend it whenever you want. Cardano staking does not freeze coins.
Eternl is one of the more feature-rich Cardano wallets, which can feel busy if you're new. There's a thorough wiki with setup guides, recovery instructions, and security best practices when you want to dig deeper.
