Overview
NUFI is a self-custody crypto wallet that lets people hold, send, and swap coins from many blockchains in one place, and stake coins on Solana, Cardano, and Flow1. It is one wallet you can use two ways: a browser extension for Chrome and a web app at wallet.nu.fi that runs in a browser tab with nothing to install2. Self-custody means you alone control the private keys, the secret codes that unlock your funds, so only you can access the wallet3.
On Cardano, NUFI sends, receives, and swaps ADA and Cardano tokens, stakes ADA, and connects to Cardano apps2. On Bitcoin, it handles BTC along with Ordinals (Bitcoin NFTs) and Runes (tokens issued on Bitcoin), and connects to Bitcoin apps4. It also supports Solana, Ethereum, Tron, Flow, and Ethereum-compatible networks such as Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism5. NUFI comes from the team behind AdaLite, an earlier Cardano browser wallet. That team also built Cardano support for Ledger and Trezor devices6.
Key Features
- One wallet for many chains. NUFI shows Bitcoin, Cardano, Solana, Ethereum, and Flow assets together and swaps coins from one chain to another without leaving the app1.
- Keys kept on a hardware device. NUFI pairs with six hardware wallets, small devices that store keys offline: Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, OneKey, GridPlus, and BitBox023.
- Staking that leaves ADA spendable. Staked ADA never leaves the wallet, is not locked, and has no minimum amount or minimum period, so you can still spend it while earning staking rewards7.
- Sign up with a social account. New users can create a self-custody wallet with Google, Facebook, Discord, or X instead of writing down a seed phrase, a list of recovery words that restores a wallet1.
- Scam checks before you sign. NUFI screens apps, smart contracts (programs that run on a blockchain), phishing links, and spam through security partner Blockaid, and previews what a transaction will do before you approve it3.
What to Expect
The Chrome extension connects directly to most Cardano apps: you click Connect Wallet on a site and pick NUFI2. If an app does not list NUFI, Wallet Emulation lets the extension stand in for a wallet the app does support, such as Eternl2. The web app needs no download and links to apps through WalletConnect, a common standard for connecting a wallet to a website2.
People moving from another wallet can import it with a 12, 15, or 24-word recovery phrase or by pairing a hardware wallet, then see their existing accounts and assets inside NUFI2. Cardano holders can swap tokens through the Minswap aggregator, a service that compares prices across Cardano exchanges, and can buy ADA with a card, PayPal, or bank transfer2. A transaction history export, including staking rewards, downloads as a spreadsheet file for record-keeping2.
Everyday users get a single dashboard for balances, staking, and an NFT gallery that puts collectibles from different chains side by side1. Hardware wallet owners keep their device for approving transactions while managing their crypto through NUFI's screens3. The extension itself is listed on the Chrome Web Store under the publisher NuFi s. r. o.8.
The NUFI team also builds the Cardano Wallet Snap, a separate add-on that gives MetaMask users a Cardano account inside MetaMask for sending, staking, and connecting to Cardano apps9. Security firm Sayfer tested that Snap and reported two low-severity issues, both fixed by the team10.
